The CCIS project builds on CareWorks’ established CareDirector software and data management solution for health and social care practitioners, which is well used across a range of care sectors in Ireland, the UK and USA.

The software developed for Wales has been designed by CareWorks to meet the growing need to integrate health and social care services. Organisations from across local government and NHS Wales have collaborated to introduce the CCIS, which will put the people and families at the centre of care decisions, planning and delivery across Wales.

Dublin-based CareWorks has nearly 20 years’ experience delivering so-lutions to the health and social care sector in Ireland, across the UK and the USA.

Michael Dolan, CEO at CareWorks, said:

Everything in CCIS starts with patients and people. They are at the centre of our system. Their information will be managed in one system for Wales, leading to greater accuracy and improved outcomes. CCIS enables professionals across health and social care to work together within their local area, the region and across the whole of Wales. CCIS helps professionals make better informed decisions because it holds all relevant information in one place. Our partnership with New-port-based Certus TG for data storage and access provides robust and future-proofed hardware from which to serve the CareDirector software. CCIS has the flexibility to adapt as organisational structures and services change. It has been designed with the proposed reconfiguration of unitary authorities in mind. Our patented CareDirector solution is easy to use and information can be accessed everywhere a practitioner’s work takes them. The Welsh Government has been working towards the shared planning and delivery of health and social care services for some time now. The CCIS solution will support that goal. By being patient and person-focussed, the system ensures the whole health and social care system is safe and effective, with people receiving the right care, at the right time, in the right place, from the right person. The CCIS programme will support business changes already underway to reshape social services and health care in Wales for the better.”
